Lapua pay particular attention to calibration and the metallurgical properties of the case, such as hardness, solidity and grain structure.

Lapua cases are hard and resilient to maintain their shape between reloads and prevent jamming in the cartridge chamber. The necks are symmetric and annealed and the bluish colour is a trademark of these cases; the mouth and neck will not crack even in multiple reloading.
